Top 10 Web Application Vulnerabilities In EdTech Sector

Educational Technology (Edtech) is one of the most grown sectors in the last years due to the distance-learning mandates of the pandemic. However, because of these unexpected shifts in the educational landscape, consumers are now vulnerable to cyberattacks directed at e-learning.

According to a report by Check Point Research, the education and research sector continues to be the most frequently attacked, with 2,297 attacks against organizations each week on average in the first half of 2022, a 44 percent rise from the same period in 2021.

Following these trends, if your organization is in the Edtech or Educational services space, there's an extremely high probability that it will fall victim to a very costly (economical + reputational) cyberattack.

In this study, we chose the top 30 most popular applications on the google play store and performed security assessments on their websites. We provide details on the consequence of these vulnerabilities and mitigation strategies.
